iiNet slays Hollywood in landmark piracy case
Although the iiNet case was decided a couple months ago, the decision has 'the potential to impact internet users and the internet industry profoundly as it sets a legal precedent surrounding how much ISPs are required to do to prevent customers from downloading movies and other content illegally'.I agree with the finding that iiNet is an ISP that provided a legitimate communication facility, which was neither intended nor designed to infringe copyright, but just what does this means for the individual user? Who is going to be liable and how will they be 'caught'?
